Our parish is located on the Village Green in the quiet rural community of Manchester, Michigan. (If you draw a triangle between Ann Arbor, Jackson, and Adrian, Manchester would be about in the center of that triangle!)

We, the People of God of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Parish, guided by the Holy Spirit, are called to continue the Mission of Christ Jesus. We dedicate ourselves to the personal responsibility of fufilling this mission by: + proclaiming the Good News of God's life, love, and mercy; + seeking nourishment in God's Word and the Most Blessed Sacrament; + serving those in need in a spirit of justice and mercy flowing from a love of Jesus; + passing on our Catholic heritage through fellowship in the parish community and through worship, prayer, and the guidance of the Bishop of Lansing, in union with the Pope, the Bishop of Rome. Responding to and relying on the power of the Holy Spirit, we pledge to accept and live the teachings of Jesus Christ, thus being living witnesses of God's presence in the world.

Have you ever wondered just what goes on "up" at the Parish Center? There are a lot of things that go on. It is especially busy from September through June.

It is used for religious education classes, the annual rummage sale, funeral luncheons, St. Mary’s fund raising dinners, Food Gatherers who distribute free food to those in need of it, etc. These are the uses of the center where there is no charge.

The center is also available for rent by both parishioners and non-parishioners. It is rented most often for Wedding Receptions, Anniversary Parties, Graduation Parties, Birthday Parties and Baby showers.

If the center is to be rented, the following costs are involved:

• $100.00 - Refundable security deposit
• $100.00 - One Time Special Event Liability Insurance (required by the Diocese, for your protection and the Parish -- OR from your Home Owner’s Insurance, a certificate of insurance with liability coverage of at least $500,000.00 and the Diocese of Lansing, Bishop Earl Boyea and St. Mary’s Parish as additional insured).
• $200.00 - Fee charged for its use to parishioners.
• $325.00 - Fee charged for its use to non-parishioners.

There is one other option and that is to rent by the hour. The cost for this is $45.00 per hour. In addition to this, the deposit and insurance is also required.

The use of the Parish Center is scheduled by contacting Marja Warner at 428-9506. If you want to rent the center, Marja will request some information from you for the rental agreement which also includes the rules for the center’s use. At the time you sign the agreement, you pay the deposit. The balance would be due at least two weeks before the scheduled event.

We, as a parish, are very luck to have this facility. It really does get used a lot.

There are also tables and chairs stored at the Parish Center that are available to borrow on a first come first serve basis by registered parishioners. If you have a need for extra tables and chairs, you can also contact Marja Warner at 428-9506.
