MONTHLY PARISH BIBLE STUDY…
The Church “forcefully and specifically exhorts all the Christian faithful … to learn ‘the surpassing knowledge of Jesus Christ,’ by frequent reading of the divine Scriptures. ‘Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ.’ ” (CCC 133) Many Catholics are put off because they don't know how to navigate the Bible or believe that they can't understand what it says.
While it takes a little time to learn, understanding Scripture is vital to Catholic life. "Indeed," says St. Paul, "I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord" (Phil. 3:8). Knowing anyone takes commitment and work, so it's no surprise that knowing Jesus takes the same thing.
Why not take the time to learn? Join us at our monthly Bible Study.
St. Mary's parish Bible Study meets on the second Monday of each month in the Fr. Fisher Hall (below the church) from 7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. No need to sign up or commit yourself to attend-- just come, and bring your Bible. (If you don't have one, we can provide one.)
